Welcome to Q̓íx̌át House

Welcome! Q̓íx̌át (Driftwood) House is a private bed & breakfast near Bella Bella, BC in Martin’s Harbour. This floathome is accessible via the docks in the harbour adjacent to the reserve.

Please note: Heiltsuk Tribal Council has shut off water service to Martin’s Harbour and none of the floathomes in the harbour have access to running water. We can provide potable drinking water and saltwater options for flushing the toilet, but are not able to offer showers at this time.

  • The floathome has two single beds in an open loft with a beautiful view of Martin’s Island, Lama Pass and the Coast Mountain Range.

  • Enjoy an open living space downstairs with lots of natural light and a functioning woodstove. Firewood is provided along with electric heat.

  • The floathome is locally constructed primarily from red and yellow cedar, and much of the furnishings are made from local wood as well.

  • Enjoy a fully-furnished kitchen with propane on-demand hot water and a propane stove! Watch the tide shift in the harbour as you wash dishes.

  • We provide children’s books, toys, and games; a selection of adult books and puzzles; and other items to keep you entertained!

  • Although the floathouse isn’t large, its open design and natural light make the space feel comfortable and abundant.

Q̓íx̌át House is available on a sliding scale.
